What is Paternity Leave?

Paternity leave is a type of job-protected leave specifically for fathers or partners of new mothers, to take time off from work for the birth or adoption of a child. The length of the leave, eligibility criteria, and compensation offered during leave can vary depending on the laws of each country and the employment agreement between the employer and employee. In some countries, paternity leave is a legal right and is paid, while in others it is unpaid. The purpose of paternity leave is to provide fathers or partners with the opportunity to bond with the new child and support the well-being of the family.
